As I move forward on my journey, the significance of community—both in person and online—has become more important to me than ever. This understanding has led to a profound shift in my focus, transitioning from leading classes and giving performances to engaging in more intimate and “closer in” work. My practice now revolves around providing spiritual direction, supporting those navigating grief, loss, and end-of-life transitions, and offering deeper coaching and mentoring in the use of storytelling for spiritual growth. In this sphere, I will take on a small number of individual clients, where we can work closely together on their spiritual journeys.
Additionally, I’m excited to invite you to learn more about a small online community that thrives on collaborative learning and growth. Stories—especially those that are deep and challenging—will continue to be a cornerstone of this work. But instead of traditional classes, my vision is to cultivate an enduring, ongoing community rooted in a truly reciprocal model.
In this new community, I’m particularly eager to engage in deep work on challenging stories from around the world. These narratives, rich with cultural wisdom and spiritual insights, have the power to illuminate our paths and expand our understanding of the human experience. Together, we will explore these stories, uncovering layers of meaning that resonate across cultures and traditions, and applying their lessons to our own lives. I draw inspiration from the rich storytelling traditions of Jewish, Roma, Hungarian, and North African cultures, whose narratives offer profound insights into resilience, identity, and spiritual growth.
A central goal of this community is to support each member in creating and nurturing their own unique spiritual paths. Each of us brings a rich history to our practice, filled with personal experiences, traditions, and beliefs. My hope is that this community will be a space where we can honor these histories while also remaining open to the future—charting new courses in spiritual practice that resonate with who we are and who we are becoming.
My journey has also been profoundly influenced by encounters with traditions and practices that are often referred to in the West as “indigenous.” Through these experiences, I have embraced the values of what is known as “the honorable harvest.” This involves a deep respect for all beings, guided by humility, generosity, and gratitude, and a dedication to restoring balance between Mother Earth and all who live because of Her generosity.
These encounters with diverse traditions have not only strengthened my connection to Judaism but have also allowed my spiritual practice to grow deeper and broader. I continue to carry the Jewish spiritual vocabulary of love, wrestling, and a thirst for justice. Yet now, my spiritual world is enriched and illuminated by the many other wonderful points of light I have encountered along the way.
As I embark on this new phase of my journey, I invite you to join me in exploring these transformations together. Let us build a community that honors each other’s stories, delves into the rich and challenging narratives from across the globe, and supports each of us in creating and sustaining our own spiritual paths—paths that are true to our histories and open to the future.
