I also direct a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Transformational Storytelling Community (TSC).

Based on my transformational storytelling model and adapting the Collective Narrative Practice developed by the Dulwich Centre in Australia, we have launched an initiative to invite healing, resilience, and strength to communities that have suffered or are suffering serious challenges.

Our first effort is in the community of Syracuse, NY, a city marked by both extraordinary cultural diversity and long-standing structural wounds. These challenges were exacerbated by the imposition of an interstate viaduct in the 1960s, which decimated thriving neighborhoods populated by the least powerful residents. Sixty years later, the viaduct is being torn down and replaced with a “community grid,” a visionary move that still poses substantial challenges. Our long-term goal is to refine this implementation and then disseminate it to other interested communities.

The work of TSC is independent of Transformational Storytelling, and donations to its work are never co-mingled with Transformational Storytelling’s funds. Please visit our site to learn more about our program.
