DESCRIPTION:Experiences of Grief and Loss: a Multicultural Literary Exploration\nIn this class\, participants will learn about their own and other cultures’ thoughts and practices via stories and literature around grief\, death\, and loss. There is no life without death\, but we are often sidelined by devastation when we encounter it. How do folks in our own and in other cultures survive and thrive in the face of loss? We will review some Jewish\, Christian\, and other Faith Community customs as well as some European and African ideas and stories. Note: Class fee includes a copy of “Stories of the Heart: Journey into Dying & Living” by Jim Brulé and Rebecca Claire Lemaire. \nThis class is in person at the Oasis CNY Center.
