SUMMARY:Teaching the Language of Compassion through Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:This is a four-session event; your registration gains you entry to all four sessions. \nStorytellers Jim Brulé and David Heathfield welcome you on a storytelling exploration of compassion. We’ll tell three parallel stories from diverse oral traditions and invite you to look deeply into your responses. You will be encouraged to share your insights with others on this learning journey\, and may choose to tell a personal story that springs to mind. \nThe way we explore stories through creative\, collaborative\, and personal response activities will allow you to adapt and apply these methods in teaching contexts where older children\, teenagers\, and adults can learn about compassion and humanity through storytelling. \nSessions will be held at the same time on both days: 28 and 29 January\, 2023: \n\n15:00-17:00 GMT (10am-12pm Eastern\, 17:00-19:00 Athens/Israel/Palestine)\n18:30-20:30 GMT (1:30-3:30pm Eastern\, 20:30-22:30 Athens/Israel/Palenstine)\n\nJim Brulé is a storyteller\, teacher\, coach\, and organizational consultant whose experience spans several decades. As a maggid\, he creates opportunities for spiritual growth and transformation through encounters with stories\, whether in performances\, classes\, or individual guidance. He has delivered programs to storytelling organizations around the world\, and classes in digital storytelling at the university level. His training programs in leadership\, collaboration\, and issues of implicit bias have been well-received by commercial\, non-profit\, and religious institutions. https://transformationalstorytelling.org/ \nDavid Heathfield is a storyteller\, storytelling teacher trainer and storytelling coach who tells tales and runs workshops around the world both in person and online. He writes widely about student creativity in language learning and is the author of the teacher resource and development books Storytelling With Our Students: Techniques for telling tales from around the world and Spontaneous Speaking: Drama Activities for Confidence and Fluency (both DELTA Publishing). David loves to create connections and build bridges across cultures and between people. www.davidheathfield.co.uk & www.heathfieldcoaching.co.uk

SUMMARY:A Taste of Storytelling for Dying and Living
DESCRIPTION:Come join Rebecca Lemaire and Jim Brulé for 90 minutes of stories and more. This program — A Taste of Storytelling for Dying and Living — will include stories told by each\, music\, guided meditation\, and the opportunity to reflect and share. Tickets are just $15 and can be obtained here. \nRebecca Lemaire is Belgian-British and is currently based in the South of Spain. She is a storyteller and teacher wherever the wind takes her: Spain\, India\, Little Tibet\, France\, Belgium\, and online. Currently\, she tells stories about grief and death to open up the conversation and help with healing. She is a Reiki healer and is an active participant in the group ‘Vivir y Morir’ in Spain\, in which the taboo about death is overcome through discussions\, practical and spiritual preparation\, movies\, poetry\, and stories. She says\, “Storytelling is a form of communication that goes way beyond words; it is a heart-to-heart interaction\, and that is why I love it!” Please visit https://www.rebeccalemaire.com/ \nJim Brulé is a transformational storyteller. His stories and students span the globe; his online storytelling school has been operating for years. Stories filled with challenge and mysticism fill his repertoire as he inspires his audience to change. Jim believes that the right kinds of stories told with an open heart can be the basis for healing the rifts within us and between us. Jim’s journeys have led him into the worlds of dying and living; he runs a variety of workshops and events on this topic\, and is an end-of-life doula: he helps individuals and their families through the transition out of life through loving preparation\, comfort\, and presence throughout this sacred stage. He is also a Reiki healer who uses spiritual stories in this sacred end-of-life work. Please visit https://transformationalstorytelling.org/
