Known for his collaboration\, he has developed and offered dozens of workshops with storytellers from around the world\, including Hears Crow\, with whom he collaborates closely. DESCRIPTION:“Spiritual Partnership” is a complimentary introduction to an enriching series dedicated to deepening one’s spiritual life. This workshop is designed to focus on the art of spiritual storytelling\, or “maggidut\,” a practice deeply rooted in tradition and wisdom. In fact\, maggidut is a gateway to a world where storytelling transcends mere art\, becoming a profound spiritual practice that offers new perspectives on personal and spiritual growth. \nRegister here. \nThe structure of the ongoing program is thoughtfully modeled on the traditional Jewish concept of “chevruta\,” which emphasizes studying in pairs under the guidance of a teacher. This approach ensures an interactive and deep learning experience\, enabling participants to engage with spiritual texts from the Jewish tradition\, as well as a rich tapestry of folktales and spiritual stories from various cultures worldwide. \nThrough this immersive study\, students will not only gain a deeper understanding of these texts and tales but also forge meaningful connections with their spiritual partners. The program is a journey of discovery\, where each story reflects personal insights and universal truths\, and each partnership becomes a conduit for shared spiritual exploration and growth. \nLed by Maggid Jim Brule’\, who received his ordination (“s’micha”) as a maggid from Maggid Yitzhak Buxbaum z”tl\, the workshop offers a rare opportunity to work with an accomplished maggid and educator. Participants will explore the power of stories in connecting\, teaching\, and inspiring others – and ourselves. \nThis workshop provides a perfect platform to learn more about the program\, meet potential fellow candidates\, and ask questions about the goals and methods of the program. Join us on a journey where you can immerse yourself in storytelling – and in a discussion following each story. She tours the world\, sharing stories and songs from Hungarian folklore and other cultures\, in Hungarian and English. She also applies and leads story work in various group processes\, where self-awareness and the community- and bridge-building role of stories is emphasized. As a scholarship holder of the Hungarian Academy of Arts\, she researches the oral tradition of Hungarian storytelling and conducts training in oral storytelling for teachers\, student teachers\, and other professionals. She believes stories can heal a community in a way nothing else can. You can learn more here: https://majamesel.wordpress.com/blog/ \nMaja brings knowledge of stories from traditional Hungarian oral folklore and their cultural background.  \n\nJim Brulé is a storyteller\, teacher\, coach\, and organizational consultant whose experience spans several decades. As a transformational storyteller\, he creates opportunities for spiritual growth and transformation through encounters with stories\, whether in performances\, classes\, or individual guidance. He also serves as an interfaith chaplain in hospitals\, jails\, and psychiatric facilities\, and is active as a “death doula.” \nJim serves on the board as President of Northeast Storytelling and has delivered programs to storytelling organizations around the world. He teaches digital storytelling at the university level\, and has crafted training programs in leadership\, collaboration\, and issues of implicit bias for commercial\, non-profit\, and religious institutions. \nHe holds advanced degrees in counseling psychology and computer science (artificial intelligence)\, and has published books and articles in several fields.
