Beginning Inspirational Storytelling – 1
February 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
In this 3-part course we will focus on the craft of storytelling. Designed for anyone who wants to tell a story better, this class will share structures, tips and practical exercises to get started in the art of truly successful storytelling. Practice some of the techniques used to guide audiences to a deeper experience of the spirit through story. Students who wish should bring a story of five to seven minutes to be told—not read—to one or more classes. Stories may be drawn from direct experience or from a spiritual/cultural tradition. Stories should be meaningful to you. Those who end up telling stories will have their presentation “workshopped” by the group, for a dual purpose: to illuminate the deeper process at play and to provide constructive guidance to the teller. At the end of this series, you should expect to have received insight into the process and practice of successful storytelling, and hopefully a pleasant storytelling experience.
